New Chords to Old Tunes, Swedish Folk Music and Term 4 of the ever popular Folk Tunes Course

Posted by Ed Hicks on February 12, 2013

Spring is on it’s way and the courses this month at the Trad Academy have taken on a distinctly continental air.

Join us on Thursday 21st March for our six week folk tunes course.  Learn to make great music with other people, plus everyone stays around afterwards to play tunes and have a beer in the bar.

Then Sunday 24th March is a double whammy of workshop at the Harrison Pub, Kings Cross….

At 12:00 Dave DeLarr will be showing players of chordal instruments (Guitars, Accordions, Melodeons, Banjos, Mandolins and any thing else polyphonic) how to get out of that three chord trick.

After that at 16:00 Esbjorn Wettermark and his band from Sweden will be leading a workshop on playing Gammeldans Music.

The workshop will be followed by a special one off Swedish/Scandinavian folk session upstairs in the pub.
