Dave DeLarreOne great aspect of traditional folk tunes is that they can be learned, played or sung by anyone whether you’re a virtuoso or a beginner. You can pick up a folk melody pretty easily and join in, this can sometimes lead to accompanying musicians wondering what to do – not many tunes have chord charts and due the simple harmonic content of the tune its hard to feel inspired to venture outside the common 3 chord trick. This workshop is for those of you who are looking to explore the possibilities, we will look at interesting chord progressions, why they work, and how you can develop your own ideas into accompanying folk tunes.

One day specialist class for players of all polyphonic (chordal) instruments taught by Dave DeLarr (http://daviddelarre.tumblr.com/) at the Harrison Pub, Kings Cross.
