shanty2The Trad Academy Sea Shanty choir continues to be enormously popular and is busy preparing for another international gig this summer (this time in Finland at the Baltic Sea Shanty Festival) as well as their performance of the Rime of the Ancient Marina at Wilton’s Music Hall.

With all these exciting performance dates coming up, the choir isn’t able to take on new members or have drops-in every week so we’ve set a special date for new members who’re interested in joining.  This will be a fun inclusive session where people can come along for free with no commitment, have a sing with us all and see if they’d like to join the choir. Save the date and come on down!

Please note the date of this open session is Thursday 21st July (not Monday 21st June as erroneously published in the mail out).

Please also note the venue it tbc, not “Tuba City Airport” which is a shame as I imagine it would be a very surreal place to run a Sea Shanty Workshop.

BR4B5334The Trad Academy Sea Shanty Choir meets on Thursdays to rehearse, and performs regularly in London and further afield. The choir is currently made up of members from a diverse range of nationalities and backgrounds. No previous musical training is necessary, and there’s no audition! Open to both musicians and non-musicians of all ages and abilities, these session are led by our artistic director of maritime music Pete Truin.
