Old Time Fiddle and Flat Foot Dancing

Posted by Ed Hicks on February 4, 2013

February is old time month at the Trad Academy and we’ve organised two great workshops for you to get into the groove.

This Sunday 10th come to the Harrison pub, Kings Cross, for an Old Time Fiddle Workshop with Emily Smith.

The workshop will be followed by our regular old time and bluegrass session at around 20:00.  It’ll be a nice chance for people to try out the tune from the workshop and other old time or bluegrass repertoire they might already have.  There’s also nice food and beer in the pub and opportunities for flat foot dancing too.  Talking of which…

Starting on Thursday 21st February is Jo Bowis’ wonderful Flat Foot Dancing Course.  Learn to make music with your feet in this fantastic dance style with origins in African and European dance forms.

The first term was a great success and you can watch videos of some of the people who did the course last time throwing down their wild moves here…
