It’s cold outside, the nights are drawing in, and it’s almost Christmas, which means that it’s time for the annual Trad Academy Christmas Party!  Hooray!  This is a chance for all those who’ve been involved over the past year to hang out together and celebrate all the cool stuff we’ve done.

We’ll be meeting again at 14 Bacon Street and it’ll be a great opportunity to sing, dance, play tunes and party with everyone.  It was great fun last year and we’ve got such a cool group of people coming down that this year is set to be another wonderful evening.

Ohh and you don’t have to e-mail us to reserve your place, it’s just the website won’t let me remove that bit of text, and it’s completely free too!

This is what it looked like at the Spring Party…

The Scandinavian course guys will come down and play us some tunes, and I’ll also be inviting people who did the Old time course as well as all the flatfooters to come share a tune and a dance.  The choir have a gig that day in the Museum of Childhood so they’ll come down and do some singing too!  If you’ve got a song you want to sing or a tune you want to play bring it down and entertain us!

There’ll be people at Bacon Street from around 6:00 but it’ll go till late so come down whenever you like.

If you haven’t been to Bacon Street before it really is worth a visit, it’s a lovely cosy little venue and we’ll have all the space we want to make music and dance until as late as we want to stay.

It really has been a great year and so many cool things have happened.  Thank you to all the tutors and the participants that took part in everything.

Highlights for me include:

• Managing to organise getting about 50 members of the choir on to an Island in the middle of the Baltic Ocean to sing sea shanties and have a massive party on a ship
• Organising the first ever Trad Academy Summer Camp.  This will be first of many and the numbers will grow and grow, it was so much fun!
• Another year of helping people learn how to flatfoot dance and play their instruments as well as being able to put on one off course for talented friends from America and other places
